Lake Strom Thurmond is the second largest man-made impoundment east of the Mississippi River which makes it a prime fishing location. Amongst McCormick County’s lush forests and land, you’ll find Whitetail Deer, Quail, and Dove to appease your hunting needs. Public hunting opportunities exist on much of the publicly owned land in McCormick County. Be sure to check the availability with the USACE, USFWS, and SC DNR for locations.
